9,000 year old Mesolithic camp site found near Welsh Castle - worked Mesolithic flint and post holes carbon dated between 9220 - 9280 years ago, plus a total of 314 stone artefact. Work was done by @AeonArchaeology.

Million Year Old Mammoth DNA
The oldest ever DNA was sequenced from million-year-old mammoths. Samples of mammoth teeth frozen in Siberian permafrost revealed the hybrid origins of Columbian mammoth species as well as indicating the woolly mammoth’s cold adaptions in ancestral species of mammoths.
Iron Age Settlement, Oxfordshire, UK

Burning in Burial
Excavation of hut structure in Jordan revealed the remains of adult female intentionally placed inside before the structure was burned down. This type of burial practice was previously thought to only occur 10,000 years later.
Earliest Slav Writing System
Runes Carved on Rib Reveals Earliest Slav Writing System. Excavations in the Czech Republic have discovered Germanic runes inscribed on a rib bone of a cow that lived around AD 600.
2000-year-old Buddhist complex
A 2000-year-old Buddhist complex was discovered in Pakistan. The remains of a large monastic and educational complex plus rare fresco paintings, of which 6 of them are still visible and intact.
Ancient Roman Port
An ancient Roman port has been discovered off the Syrian coast . Theremains of hydraulic structures, lighthouse, and 4 marble columns have been found plus ancient Greek amphorae, Phoenician pots, Egyptian vases.
Unidentified English Wrecks are UK Heritage
Two unidentified shipwrecks have been declared UK national heritage. The ships were sunk some time in the 19th century in the River Thames and off south coast of England. They provide potential insight into Britain's maritime transportation industry and appear to be in excellent condition
Roman Coins in Turkey
More than 600 Roman silver coins dated around 2,100 years old have discovered in Turkey. Many were minted in southern Italy, between 75 - 4 BC. Caesar, Brutus, Mark Antony and Augustus are depicted on the coins.
Iron Age St. Kilda
Recent archaeological excavation has provided evidence of Iron Age habitation on remote island of St Kilda, offshore of Scotland. The large quantities of Iron Age pottery found across the site suggests settlement may have existed nearby.

Gate of Cyrus the Great unearthed near Persepolis, Iran. The ruins of a majestic historical gateway, built upon the order of Cyrus the Great, founder of the Achaemenid Empire (c. 550 – 330 BC) was recently discovered in Iran.
